Our Neighbhorhood

Sometimes people are confused about the boundaries of the West Park neighborhood. When we were officially incorporated in 1976, the Historic District which we later lobbied to form did not yet exist. We were chartered to represent the interests of the park, its environs, and neighbors from 12th St to 20th St and from Hamilton to Gordon St. In a city as geographically compact as Allentown, over the years many people in areas adjacent to these boundaries have joined our group and we happily advocate on their behalf and on behalf of the larger neighborhood.

We welcome members from anywhere in the City, but especially those living within a half mile of West Park. The Historic District, which is sometimes mistaken for the neighborhood, was formed in 2000 and expanded shortly thereafter.

The scope of our area of chartered concern is roughly equivalent to Census Track 20, as well as parts of Tract 21 and 22.02 as depicted below.
